How and Why to Exfoliate your Face
"What does gently exfoliate does?", "Is it really necessary to exfoliate?", "How do you exfoliate?"
Most of us are extremely busy, we’re fortunate if we manage to remove our make-up and cleanse our faces before we collapse into bed. For many, a common skin care routine is as simple as cleanse, moisturize, and go! Frequently overlooked, exfoliation marks a crucial step in a healthy skin care routine for all skin types (Definitely, even sensitive skin can benefit from gentle exfoliation with suitable products.)
Why You Need to Exfoliate?
Your skin is constantly shedding skin cells. When this happens, smoother skin cells force their way up to the skin's surface. However, as you age, the rate at which your body sheds dull and dead skin cells begins to slow down. Whether you have dry, normal, oily or sensitive skin, exfoliation can generate renewed life to your complexion.
- Clear Acne & Breakouts
Exfoliation helps to reduce the happening of acne and blackhead breakouts. Acne-prone skin sheds extra skin cells more than other skin types, but the cells do not fall away.
In lieu, they adhere to the skin, clogging pores and hair follicles. As this dead cell debris builds, the skin produces excess follicle oils which lead to blackheads and blemishes.
- Improve Your Skin Texture
Exfoliating the tired, dead cells also speeds up the skin renewal process, allowing new healthy cells to seize their place. This process turns your complexion from dull and dry to bright, vibrant, and smooth.
- Exfoliate Away All Signs of Ageing
As you age, your skin becomes drier and less elastic, which can result in lines and wrinkles. You on top may find your skin is rougher in texture than it used to be. This is due to the multiple layers of dead skin cells that accumulate of the years.
How to Exfoliate Your Skin
How to exfoliate your skin depends on your skin type, skin concerns and preferences.
PRO TIP: Apply Fresh Cucumber Mint Toner before you apply Bio Active Tan Removing Exfoliating Scrub after you remove the toner or both. The significant thing is to make sure you apply toner at some point after you cleanse to rebalance the pH levels.
For perfect exfoliation, take the appropriate quantity of the scrub and gently massage in circular motion. Make sure to keep your motions gentle, because if you apply overmuch pressure (Or use too harsh of a scrub.) you can actually injure the skin. Rinse off with water then follow with Bright Day Cream (if it is daytime) and in time, Bio Active Intense Night Cream.
How Often to Exfoliate your Face
Exfoliation can be done depending upon your skin type and sensitivity. Ideally, our face needs to be exfoliated and washed away from dead skin cells maximum 1-3 times a week.
